Welcome to Waterworld

Welcome to SGC-Clan's Waterworld server!
Before you start building and battling, please read through our server rules and guidelines below.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask our admins or join our Discord server.
These rules are regularly updated, so check back often for the latest information.

Message of the Day

Press your bound help key (typically F1), or type "motd" in the developer console, to display this Message of the Day again.

The Goal

Build a raft, sink other rafts, be the last team to survive.

Your earnings are based on the number of friends vs enemies that played in the round.

Defense Tips

Use the air cannon and fences to defend against torpedos and grenades. Strategic defense is just as important as offense!

Premium Benefits

If you purchase a Premium Account via our website, you get 2x prop limit and lease limits, plus 95% refund for leased props!

⚠️ WARNING: Your raft must float and may not be supported by the world in any way. Violation will result in a ban and loss of ingame credits.
ℹ️ NOTE: Please keep teams balanced. If it takes 6 people to take on your team of 3, they won't get paid well for their effort. Split up or an admin may prevent you from ever playing on the same team as your mates again.

Rules - The lay of the land.

General Rules Rules that are relevant to everything

W1

Don't Lag the Server

Intentionally lagging the server will result in a blacklist ban.
This can be detected even if no players or admins are online - the server monitors these actions automatically.
Spawning many large props, creating spawners, or colliding many props are all examples of this offense.

W2

Don't Shove Players or Props

Shoving players or their props with your (or your team's props) will result in a ban.
We play games to have fun, and nobody likes being pushed around. Keep it fair and fun for everyone.

W3

Don't Argue With Admins

Admins are here to help maintain a fun environment for everyone.
Arguing with them will not be tolerated - they have more knowledge about the gamemode than you, and their word is law.
Seriously, don't argue over it.

W4

Don't Ram Rafts

Complicated collisions lag the server, and we don't want that.
Avoid ramming other rafts - this isn't bumper boats, it's strategic combat!

W5

Build Your Own Raft

It's more fun that way! Building your own raft teaches you the mechanics and makes victory that much sweeter.
Or agree to share with your team - communication is key.

W6

Ban Requests

To request a ban, please be sure to ask a player to discontinue their activity via the chat (not voice) and make a note of the time and date of the infraction.
Post ban requests on the forums at sgc-clan.com.

W7

Your Raft Must Float

Your raft must float and may not be supported by the world in any way.
This is critical for gameplay balance - if your raft is touching the ground, it's not a raft, it's a building!
Violation will result in a ban and loss of ingame credits.

W8

Rules May Change

*NOTE* RULES MAY CHANGE AT ANY GIVEN TIME DEPENDING ON HOW MANY LOOP HOLES YOU TRY TO FIND.
We're tired of people exploiting loopholes and it just ruins the game for others.
Failure to obey the rules may lead to a KICK or BAN!

W9

Admin Identification

Admins are indicated by an icon after their name in the scoreboard - look for a Red or Orange person icon.
If you see one, they're here to help (or enforce the rules if needed).

How Waterworld Works - Stay afloat, stay alive.

1

Goal

Remain above water longer than any other team. Simple as that - be the last one floating!

2

Build Stage

Select your team, construct your raft, make sure it floats. Spawn props from the Q Menu, use Physics Gun to position them, and weld them together. You have 5 minutes before the flood arrives! Your raft must float and cannot be supported by the world in any way.

3

Fill Stage

Purchase additional weapons and get to a stable place on your raft where you can shoot from. Use air cannons and fences to defend against torpedos and grenades. Strategic defense is just as important as offense!

4

Equip Stage

Check your weapon selection and select a target. This is your last chance to prepare before the battle begins!

5

Fight Stage

Sink the enemy! Destroy opponents' rafts while defending your own. Aim for props that will throw enemies off balance, or target the prop they're standing on. The last team with surviving props wins the round!

6

Drain Stage

Reflect on what you and others did well and poorly. Look at the remains of rafts to see how they were made - learn from your mistakes and victories! Your earnings are based on the number of friends vs enemies that played.

Multitool

The multitool is your best friend when building:

  • To weld props: Left-click the first prop, then left-click the second prop. You can cancel a selection with a right-click.
  • To share props: Right-click the prop until it displays the sharing option you want.
  • To unweld props: Press reload (R) on a prop. It will flash red and all unwelded props will flash white.
  • To remove props: Press use (E) on a prop twice quickly. It will flash once to show which prop you selected. A second click will remove the prop.

Pro Tips

  • Aim for props that will throw the enemy off balance. Or aim for the prop they are standing on to make them shift around a lot and fall off themselves.
  • Some props will only float when upright. They are cheaper and are more durable but are risky. Make sure they don't tip too much.
  • Don't over weld. Weld heavy objects to buoyant props, not other heavy props. If you lose buoyancy on that end of the raft, it won't become unbalanced.
  • KISS: Keep it simple stupid. Make sure your raft will stay afloat regardless of what falls off. If you get too complicated, you can cause an imbalance if the wrong prop is removed first.
  • Don't spend too much on your raft. You do not get a full refund on props and lose everything if the prop is destroyed. You should balance the chance of losing with the survival award.
  • Buying weapons as you have money for them will help you stay ahead, instead of waiting with a pistol until you can afford a heavy weapon.
  • Ammo costs credits, make sure you save enough to maintain your weapons at the end of build. Buy the cheapest pistol as a backup, it has free ammo.
